North Carolina still has the transphobic bathroom law
Caitlyn Jenner has had a great response to the North Carolina governor who wants her to shower in the men’s bathroom.
Governor Pat McCrory made the remark after Democratic challenger Roy Cooper slammed the Republican for signing HB2, which bans trans people from using bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity.
When asked which restroom Jenner would be allowed to use by debate moderator Chuck Todd, McCrory said: ‘If she’s going to a shower facility at [University of North Carolina] –Chapel Hill after running around the track, she’s going to use the men’s shower.’
Jenner responded in a light-hearted way on her Instagram.
‘So I’m supposed to use the same shower as this guy?? Gross!,’ she said.
Cooper has vowed to repeal HB2, a law Democratic politicians says has cost $500 million in economic impact and and is violating federal civil rights law.
Concerts, athletic events and major corporations have been pulled over the transphobic law.
‘We need a good jobs governor, not an HB2 governor,’ Cooper said during the debate.
