Saudi Arabian channel apologizes for ‘ungodly’ act

A Saudi Arabian television channel has issued an apology after accidentally showing two men simulating gay sex.

Increase Your Credit, which airs on Bedaya, showed two male contestants messing around in the background of a scene.

One shows a man thrusting against another man while they are both clothed, with no penetration taking place, to mimic anal sex.

However, Saudi viewers were outraged by the supposed ‘pornographic’, ‘dirty’ and ‘insulting’ clip.

Social media users have called on the Saudi government to ban Bedaya from broadcasting.

‘A dirty scene and broadcast on a highly viewed channel,’ wrote Twitter user @mkhawe15, as translated by Middle East Eye.

‘The Ministry of Information must immediately stop the channel.’

Bedaya issued an apology, saying mistakes can happen during a live stream.

‘The act that took place by one of our contestants, an act which is not accepted by any logic, any religion, or moral values, was apologised for by the contestant,’ the channel stated.

‘The act was unintended by him, and he has repented to God.’

Bedaya added the contestant was disqualified and his act ‘does not represent the channel or its goals to spread values and morals’.
